If you're being honest
You've already tried the meditation apps. None of them stuck.
Calm. Headspace. The cycle-tracker that had a "mindfulness" tab. The Spotify playlist of 528Hz frequencies you keep restarting. The screenshot of affirmations saved in your camera roll since 2023.
You read them. You wanted to mean them. But somewhere between the stranger's voice telling you to "just breathe" and the quote on a beige background you didn't write — your nervous system knew it wasn't real.
And so the affirmations stayed in your camera roll. And the apps stayed unopened. And you stayed a little anxious, a little overstimulated, a little exhausted from doing all of this alone.

Here's the part nobody told you
It was never going to work in someone else's voice.
The deepest layer of your nervous system — the part that decides what's true about you — was trained on one voice from the very beginning. Yours.
That's why the stranger's whisper through your AirPods slides right off. Why the screenshots feel performative. Why "I am enough" written in someone else's handwriting still lands like a Pinterest quote — not a knowing.
You don't need another guru. You need to be told the truth by the only voice your body has ever fully trusted.
The shift
Your own voice
over the right frequencies.
That's the whole thing. When you record affirmations in your own voice and layer them over scientifically crafted binaural beats, something different happens. Your brain stops braced. Your body softens. And the words you've been trying to believe finally start to take root — because they're coming from the inside out.
Research suggests the brain processes a familiar, self-generated voice differently than a stranger's, and binaural beats may gently guide the brain toward calmer states. See the why →
Why this actually works
Grounded in sound science and the psychology of your own voice.
Affirmism isn't a new idea dressed up — it sits at the intersection of three areas researchers have been quietly studying for decades.
Sound that gently guides your brain.
When you hear two slightly different frequencies — one in each ear — your brain perceives a third, steady pulse. Research into brainwave entrainment suggests this can support calmer, more focused, more receptive states. It's not a treatment. It's a nudge.
The one voice your brain already trusts.
Research suggests the brain processes a familiar, self-generated voice differently than a stranger's — with less defense and more recognition. Hearing yourself say something can make it feel more believable and personal than the same words read by a narrator. That's the whole reason Affirmism is built around you.
Words that mean something to the person saying them.
Self-affirmation is a well-studied area of psychology. Studies have explored how affirmations tend to land more deeply when they're personally meaningful and repeated consistently — which is exactly what happens when you write and record your own.
Affirmism is a sound healing and mindfulness practice — not a medical or therapeutic tool. We make no claims to diagnose, treat, or cure any condition.

The science of sound
Frequencies rooted in ancient sound healing.
Solfeggio frequencies are a set of specific tones used in sound healing traditions for centuries, each associated with a different intention. Inside Affirmism, they're paired with binaural beats — slightly different tones in each ear that research suggests can gently guide the brain toward a calmer, more receptive state. Affirmism's library spans all nine Solfeggio tones — 174, 285, 396, 417, 528, 639, 741, 852, and 963 Hz — alongside pure alpha, theta, and delta binaural beats for focus, meditation, and deep rest.
(Stereo headphones required — one frequency plays in each ear, and that's how the binaural effect works.)

From early testers
"I've never stuck with anything like this."
First app that actually stuck.
I've used it every single night for 3 weeks now — that has never happened with Calm or Headspace. Hearing myself say 'you are safe' over the 528Hz track does something I can't explain. I cried the first time.

My nervous system finally exhaled.
I made one recording on a Sunday night about being a 'good mom' and played it every morning during school drop-off for a week. By Friday I wasn't bracing for my 6-year-old's meltdown anymore. I was just there.

The voice memo I needed at 14.
I hated the sound of my own voice for the first two days. Then I slowed it down on the 396Hz frequency and it stopped sounding like me — it sounded like someone finally being kind to me. Game over.

Why I built Affirmism
A decade ago, I couldn't stand my own thoughts. So I changed them — one Affirmism at a time.
If you can believe it, ten years ago, I hated myself. Quietly, mostly — the kind of hating that lives behind your eyes and narrates your whole day. I was critical, judgmental, anxious, afraid. I couldn't take a compliment without deflecting. I couldn't mess up without spiraling. Grace was something I only gave other people.
Then I was introduced to Louise Hay's You Can Heal Your Life, and the door cracked open. I started reading affirmations out loud in the mirror. Saying them. Whispering them. I noticed a little light turn on inside me — but it wasn't enough. I was thirsty in a way that words on a page couldn't reach.
One afternoon, I decided to record affirmations out loud to myself — so that I had a long enough recording to last the moped ride to the university I was attending. I'd press play, drive across town, and arrive somewhere different than where I'd left. Lighter. Steadier. Like someone had finally been kind to me. It was me.
Around that same time, I stumbled onto a tiny company experimenting with binaural beats and brain entrainment — cutting-edge then, almost unheard of. They had pre-written affirmations to read while listening to the beats.
One night an idea landed in my mind like a soft butterfly: what if I put my voice, saying my affirmations, over those frequencies?
I taught myself GarageBand at my kitchen table. I made the first one. Then another. Then another. I listened twice a day, every day, for months. And slowly — almost without noticing — I started loving myself. For maybe the first time in my life. I would give myself grace when I wasn't perfect. The inner critic that had run the show for years loosened its grip to the point I could receive a compliment and let it land. My agoraphobia softened. I could walk up to strangers and make a new friend. The self-loathing thoughts disappeared almost entirely because the voice in my head started sounding like the voice in the recording: kind, steady, on my side.
These recordings became my safety net.
Any time I lost my footing — a hit to my confidence, a tailspin, a quiet collapse — I'd press play, and they'd carry me back home to myself.
They worked so well I started making them for clients in my coaching practice. I'd sit with someone, listen for the story underneath the story, write them a custom affirmation letter, and have them record it in their own voice. I would then layer it over binaural beats I designed for what they were healing. I called it Affirmism — affirmation plus -ism, because it had become a whole philosophy: sound healing science meeting the psychology of how we speak to ourselves.
In 2018, I came close to a six-figure investment to turn it into an app. It didn't pan out and I thought the dream was dead. It turns out it was just waiting for the world — and the technology — to catch up.
I'm honestly in tears writing this.
Affirmism is a decade in the making — every cry session, every late night, every recording, every client, every version of me who needed it. I'm putting it in your hands with the prayer that it does for you what it did for me.
If you've been waiting for a lifeboat — I hope this is it.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Everything you're quietly wondering.
This isn't meditation in the cross-legged-and-empty-mind sense. You press play and let your own voice carry you. If you can listen to a podcast, you can do this — and most women say it's the first practice that ever stuck.
It's actually the most common thing we hear — and it almost always shifts by week two. Hearing your voice spoken back to you with care (over a beat, slowed down, soft) is a completely different experience than hearing yourself on a voicemail. Most users say it becomes their favorite part.
Yes — stereo headphones (wired or AirPods both work) are required for the full binaural beat effect. The frequencies do their work by playing slightly different tones in each ear.
Because the other apps were someone else's voice, someone else's words, someone else's pace. Affirmism is yours. There's nothing generic to lose interest in — the content is literally you.
No, and that's by design. Your voice recordings, written affirmations, and session data are stored locally on your iPhone. We never upload, transmit, or have access to them.

Yes — and we're careful about how we talk about it. Binaural beats and brainwave entrainment are an active area of sound research, and self-affirmation is a well-studied area of psychology, especially when the affirmations are personally meaningful and repeated consistently. That said, Affirmism is a wellness and mindfulness practice — not a medical treatment. We don't claim to diagnose, treat, or cure anything. We just built the practice on top of the principles that already have research behind them.
If you can send a voice memo, you're already qualified. Write or pick an affirmation, tap record, choose a beat, press play. The whole first session takes about five minutes.
Affirmism is a sound healing and mindfulness app — not a medical or therapeutic tool. We make no claims to treat or cure any condition. It's meant to support your existing practice, not replace professional care.
Out of questions...
The only thing left is the first recording. It takes five minutes.
Your voice.
Your words.
Your healing.
You've spent years looking for the thing that would finally make it click. It was you, the whole time. Affirmism is just the place you get to hear it.
